Zhejiang Vocational Academy of Art

Zhejiang Vocational Academy of Art is a state-run full time comprehensive art institute of higher education. Over the past 68 years, it has cultivated a large number of cultural and artistic professionals, and has made important contributions to the development of social culture. Granted as Provincial Civilized Unit, the Academy serves as a training base for national grassroots cultural team, Zhejiang training base of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a research and training base for the inheritance group of national intangible cultural heritage, an experimental unit of modern apprenticeship of the Ministry of Education, and a research and inheritance base for intangible cultural heritage in Zhejiang Province. The Academy is a vice chairman unit of both National Cultural and Art Vocational Education and Teaching Guidance Committee and China Education Federation of the Arts. In 2019, the Academy was listed in “Double High-levels Plan”. 
There are seven secondary colleges, namely Traditional Chinese Opera College, Music College, Dance College, Drama and Film & Television College, Design College, Handicrafts College, Performing Arts and Education College, as well as an affiliated secondary school (Zhejiang Art School), Elementary Teaching Department (Public Sports Department), Marxist College, Teaching and Practicing Center, and Continuous Education College. There are 32 majors. The Academy has gathered distinguished artists and accomplished educators such as Huang Yuan,Gai Jiaotian,Yao Shuijuan, etc. And has cultivated a large number of cultural and artistic talents for the cultural industry in Zhejiang Province. A great many graduators have become celebrated in the arts scene, who includes Mao Weitao, Dong Qing, Zhou Xun, etc.
