ARTFX

ARTFX – Schools of Digital Arts is a group of international higher-education institutions specializing in film, visual effects (VFX), animation, and video games, with campuses in Lille, Paris, and Montpellier. Founded in 2004 by industry professionals, ARTFX was the first French school dedicated to VFX. Its management and teaching teams come directly from the creative industries, maintain close relationships with studios, and continuously adapt their programs to industry needs. Independent from any corporate group, the school promotes human-scale campuses and complete pedagogical freedom.

In 2025, ARTFX received major international recognition in The Rookies rankings:

#1 worldwide in Visual Effects,

#2 worldwide in Video Games,

#6 worldwide in 2D Animation,

#10 worldwide in 3D Animation,

and ranks 15th in the Top 50 Creative Schools.

ARTFX graduation projects are also regularly selected and awarded:

Pégases 2023: Alaska, Best Student Video Game.

VES Awards: four wins in 2019 (Terra Nova), 2022 (Green), 2024 (Silhouette), and 2025 (Pittura).

Genie Awards (PIDS): four Best Student Film awards in 2018 (The Endless), 2021 (Time’s Down), 2022 (Green), and 2025 (Verdun).

ARTFX is also certified under France 2030 – La grande fabrique de l’image, a government investment initiative aimed at strengthening France’s leadership in the global creative and cultural industries. This support contributes to the strategic expansion of the Montpellier, Lille, and Enghien-les-Bains campuses, including new facilities (film sets, technical spaces) and advanced training programs focused on emerging professions.
