What is Jönköping University best known for?

Jönköping University (JU) is one of the most international universities in Sweden in terms of the number of international students and faculty as well as student-exchange opportunities. Research is also largely internationally focused, which translates into internationally relevant programmes and courses. We’re home to Jönköping International Business School (the first school in Sweden to gain both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation) and have a strong focus on entrepreneurship throughout the university.

Outside of the classroom, we’re known for our exciting Introduction Week, which has been rated one of the best in Europe, as well as our very active and international student union that offers students loads of extracurricular activities, events, trips, etc.

What kinds of programmes does JU offer?

Pathway programmes

JU Summer School

JU Summer School consists of two courses offered in English, which welcome students from around the world interested in the areas of engineering, management, health and welfare. The courses have a special focus on internationalisation and sustainability.

What are the connections to local industry like?

We believe that one of the most important parts of your learning journey is to get the opportunity to try out your future profession via direct contact with Swedish and international businesses. This will give you valuable real-life experiences and cultural knowledge, making you more employable. You’ll also get the chance to establish contacts with future employers, as well as build a network of contacts in the business world.  Many programmes at JU offer the opportunity to collaborate with companies in various ways – from student projects and customised courses, to internships and industrial placements. Nearby Science Park, a business incubator partly financed by JU, creates an environment for innovative students to try out and commercialise their ideas.
