Universitas Negeri Malang

Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), was formerly IKIP - Institut Keguruan Ilmu Pendidikan or Teacher Training and Education Institute. Now, it is one of the biggest and most reputable among the thirteen ex Teacher Education Institutions. In 1999, UM was endowed with the development from an institute into a university. Its main campus is located in Malang, an education city with cool weather providig conducive environment for studies. It is a tourism city and is the second biggest city in East Java.
UM has experienced rapid development. It has been appointed as a reference institution in science and technology, especially in education. It has always been UM's pride to dedicate itself in education and learning.
UM is situated in a conducive campus life in Malang. Its academics are holders of professorial and doctoral qualifications. UM is equipped with digital-based facilities to support its education, learning, research, and community service centres. UM graduates are acdemically qualified in undergraduate, master and doctoral levels from various study programs and are ready for the global competition. Also, UM students have gained achievements in various competitions in both national and international levels.
UM has also developed a great number of learning innovation. To this achievement, the government appointed UM as a centre of learning innovation in 2017. Research at UM are copyrighted, internationally published and are ready for commercialisation.
