"Just do it! Studying abroad enriches you as a person."

Mathilde visited The Go-Abroad Fair with "quite a specific mission". After all, she already knew she wanted to pursue a master's degree abroad and she had a preference for a country in Europe. What did she prefer? "Not too far away, but I did want to go to France, also to learn the language."

Because she had already done some research prior to her visit to The Go-Abroad Fair, the choice was not very difficult anymore. Her preference was already with the Montpellier Business School, and a conversation with a recruiter from this school at the fair was decisive: "He had good answers to all my questions. My enthusiasm grew." Because she also received a financial allowance (also known as a scholarship or bursary), the choice was quickly made.

After taking the English-language version of the course in the first year, Mathilde did go for the French-language version in the second year. "I definitely still make mistakes in French, but I can make myself understood just fine. And learning the language is also more or less automatic when you do activities with fellow students." She likes it very much, so much so that she will not return to the Netherlands after her studies: "I don't know yet what exactly it will be, but I definitely plan to stay in France for the time being after my studies.
